What is acne scarring?

Scarring can be pigmentation, left from previous breakouts, which is red or hyper (dark patches pigmentation), or more noticeable pitted skin, enlarged pores and uneven skin texture.

It can vary from mild to moderate and not all acne suffers are affected by scarring.

What causes acne scarring?

Scarring is caused by previous breakout activity, especially if inflamed spots are squeezed or scabs picked off. While UV exposure, without using a sun screen, can cause pigmentation marks.
