How does DermaPen work?

Every DermaPen needle tip is made up of 12 ultra-fine needles, which penetrate vertically into the skin. The needles are lightly injected into the skin creating small, micro-skin channels. These small channels are like wounds and, just as every wound sets the healing process of the body into motion, these tiny ‘injuries’ stimulate the collagen formation process of the skin.

Boosts collagen production

The body reduces collagen production as a person ages. Micro-needling skin is a way of reminding the body to restart the collagen and elastin production process, which then leads to the formation of a new layer of skin which is thicker and smoother than before.

Nourish cells

These micro-skin channels also carry up to 80% more topical nutrients, allowing penetration deep into the dermis fibroblasts, feeding the cells found in the dermis and basal layers. This increases the absorption of active ingredients into the skin, stimulating repair at a cellular level and accelerating the regeneration of the skin’s epidermal cells.

We use sterile, individually sealed, disposable needle cartridges for optimal safety and comfort.

A numbing cream is applied before your treatment if you wish, and you may feel minor discomfort during the treatment. You may also experience pin-prick bleeding during the treatment but this should soon stop.

Treatment results

Results can be seen from 1-8 eight weeks after the treatment. Typically you will see results after your first treatment. We usually recommend 4-6 treatments (at 4-6 week intervals) which give lasting and more significant results.
